Record-Breaking Refractory Installation
Our CEO, Mr. Syed Iqtidar, led the successful completion of a monumental project at the newly installed Bestway Cement Limited (BCL) Paikhail-Miawali plant. The project involved the installation of 1,000 tons of refractory bricks and castable materials in an unprecedented time frame of just 8 days. This achievement has set a new record in Pakistan’s cement sector for the fastest installation of this scale, showcasing our team’s dedication to excellence and operational efficiency.
Key Achievements with Bestway Cement Limited
- Transitioned coal usage at Hattar Plant (2015): Achieved a seamless shift from Indonesian to South African coal, overcoming operational hurdles that had previously limited the plant to Indonesian coal only.
- Replaced 100% African coal with Afghan coal: Optimized fuel sourcing by leveraging Afghan coal to reduce reliance on imported South African coal.
- Coal mix optimization: Successfully introduced a coal mix of 30% Dara coal and Afghan coal, improving cost efficiency and performance.
- 100% Dara coal transition: Achieved complete reliance on Dara coal, further optimizing operational costs.
- Petcoke utilization: Efficiently utilized 90% Petcoke mixed with 10% Afghan coal, demonstrating our ability to maximize fuel flexibility.
- Regional coal savings: Utilized 70% low GCV regional coal, achieving significant cost savings without compromising on production quality.
Success at Lucky Cement Iraq
- Commissioned the plant: As acting GM, Mr. Syed Iqtidar successfully commissioned the Lucky Cement Iraq plant without any assistance from the Chinese commissioning team.
- Addressing operational challenges: Despite 1.7% SO3 levels in the raw meal and 5% fuel oil usage, operational adjustments and raw mix optimization were implemented to prevent buildups, ensuring smooth operations.
